Daniel Singer Millennium Prize

Victor Navasky spoke first, introducing the panel. Barbara Garson read a few pages sent by Glenn Greenwald. Sarah Leonard expanded on the premises of her article, and responded to the questions posed by Leo Panitch, of York University in Toronto. Dan La Botz of New Politics spoke about who Daniel was and what he stood for, opined that “progressive” is a namby-pamby term, and called for serious activism—direct action. Questions and comments were then taken from the audience. I am sure that Daniel would have felt that his legacy was honored and his vision furthered.
